We supply double-twisted mesh gabions manufactured from aluminum-coated steel wire conforming to Specification A 809, soft temper. Aluminum coated steel wire refers to zinc-aluminum coated wire, also known as aluminum galvanized wire, or Galmac alloy coated wire. Our aluminum galvanized wire gabions are produced with coating weights comforming to Specification Specification A 809 for aluminum coating.
Fasteners for these gabions are made from aluminum coated steel wire conform to Specification A 764.
We supply gabions with two Aluminum Coating Types:
Zn-Al 5% ( Zinc 95%+Aluminium 5%)
Zn-Al 10% (Zinc 90%+Aluminium 10%)
Applications:
Galmac alloy coated gabions are durable and economical products for common applications in erosion control and retaining structures. Galmac alloy coated mesh gabions offer similar features with Galfan coated mesh gabions:
The gabions are all made of wire coated with aluminum alloy offering excellent corrosion resistance. We recommend our customers consider following when choosing for your projects:
- Corrosion Resistance: Galfan coated gabions offer superior corrosion resistance due to the presence of mischmetal, more suitable for harsher environments compared to Galmac coated gabions.
- Cost: Galmac coated gabions tend to be more cost-effective due to their simpler alloy composition, Galfan coated gabions may cost more but potentially offer lower long-term maintenance costs.

Accelerated aging test with accelerated C02 (28 cycles) according to EN ISO 6988;
Accelerated aging test: when the net is exposed to a neutral salt spray test (ISO 9227) after 6000 hours. The net will not show more than 5% dark brown rust.
